“Many followed (Jesus) and He healed all their sick.” Matthew 12:15

In our modern time we are grateful for the advances of medicine even though they are not perfect. Could you imagine what medical practices were like in Jesus’ day? Primitive and scary! Pain and disease were rampant. So when Jesus came as a miracle healer, He drew many to Himself looking for physical cures. Of course, this was one of the prophesies of the Messiah, that He would give sight to the blind, make the lame walk and bring healing. And yet, everyone that Jesus healed eventually died. Even those He brought back to life would once again close their eyes in death.

Jesus came to bring true healing, not just temporal, and not just for the physical. Jesus brought healing from sin and its wage of death. Jesus came to bring eternal life and when He died and rose again, the antidote was granted to a fallen humanity. Nevertheless, sins effects are still among us. We live them each day as we return to sin and fall into temptation. Thankfully, until we are completely free from this flesh, Jesus’ antidote of forgiveness is continually granted. We need only seek out the Great Physician and His healing hand still touches us.

Know that you are loved!

Peace and Joy!
