“Pobody’s Nerfect!”
I remember seeing the phrase above on a man’s t-shirt once. It made me laugh because it was, of course, written incorrectly, thus making the point that, Nobody’s Perfect. You may be surprised to know that it is actually not a verse in the Bible, but the truth of it is. Because of sin, we now live as imperfect people in an imperfect world and we deal with this truth each and every day. Paul told the Church in Rome, “…there is no one who does good, not even one.” Romans 3:12 Part of our inherent imperfection is that we are so ready to point out the faults of others, while overlooking our own. Sin’s work is all pervasive and effects every part of our being, this is why we so desperately need a Savior.
It’s true, no one is perfect, except, the perfect Son of God, Jesus Christ! Amen? Amen! In His perfection, He paid the price for sin and granted us forgiveness, covering us with His perfect Blood and sacrifice. This is afforded to us through faith and makes us perfectly forgiven before the throne of God. Because of this truth, we are empowered to live that much more for God and to forgive the imperfections of others. And when imperfection comes our way and we fall into sin, we have a Savior Who is always ready to forgive and make us clean again. Praise God!
