“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor  any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

Romans 8:38-39

Isn’t this an encouraging passage of Scripture? Nothing can separate us from God’s love! Amen! At one time sin, death and the power of the devil drove a wedge between us and God, but Jesus crossed over from Heaven to earth so that this division would end. Jesus came so that we would not be separated from the love of God. Judas tried to separate

Jesus from His mission, as did the religious leaders and Herod and Pilate, but they were unsuccessful. Even a cruel cross, burial cloths and a tomb’s boulder did not work. Now that Jesus has died and risen from the dead, nothing can separate us from God’s love…not sin, not death, not the devil, not the Corona Virus or fear or anxiety. Our God is greater! And He is always with us to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20) In this we have confidence and encouragement!

One of my favorite hymns states this truth eloquently:

“I fear no foe with Thee at Hand to bless;

Ills have no weight and tears no bitterness.

Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?

I triumph still if Thou abide with me!”

(Abide With Me” LSB # 878 v. 5)

May the Lord Richly Bless you and Keep you,
