“…One thing I do know. I was blind, but now I see.” John 9:25
This year of 2020, although difficult, has given a clearer vision on many issues we face in this fallen world. The light has brought that which was formerly dark into vision. No doubt, we have all a clearer perspective on issues and agendas and the field has been laid bare. We can see what is really going on in this world and can peer into the hearts of others especially as people are much more willing to share their private thoughts in the public arena.
Truthfully, it is usually disheartening, for the mind and heart of humanity is full of sin. This is why we need the light of Christ to give true perspective. And as the Son shines His light, we see more clearly a hopeful future, despite the hopelessness around us.
The verse above came from a man born blind whom Jesus gave sight. While he regained his physical vision, the greater gift was the vision of faith he received. This man recognized Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was given true sight. We too, through the gift of faith have been granted this vision. It allows us to see beyond this time and a fallen world into the plans of God which encourage and empower us to see this world differently from others. We live this vision through God’s Holy Word and the clarity of faith that it grants. See all the good the Lord has for us!
Know that you are loved!
Peace and Joy,
Pastor Kilian
