(Jesus said) “…I AM the Door…” John 10:9
The verse continues, “By Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.” John 10:9. Humanity has tried to enter into salvation in many ways throughout history. Some have sought the way through philosophy, ideology, politics, human effort, moral, ritual and religious systems- but apart from Jesus, all paths have led to a dead end.
Only through the One Door of Christ can a person receive redemption. Beyond this, only through Christ can one enter into the abundant life free from sin and guilt and punishment. Jesus is the way to the abundant life where real joy and hope are to be found. He enriches life and when a person walks through the door of the Church, they come into His favor and receive the Word and Sacraments that grant true life.
Come on in! We will be opening again soon to enjoy the beauty of Pilgrim’s sanctuary, until then, our Lord continues to provide the way to life as one opens His Holy Word and communes with Him in prayer. This is the Door, as only Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
